You should also avoid smoking and excessive chewing for two weeks. On the first day of recovery, it is recommended to sleep on two or three pillows to keep your head elevated. After a week, your stitches will dissolve on their own, you can cover your scar with make-up from 1 week. The swelling and redness of the scar will get better in the following weeks and will almost completely disappear in about three months.
