Vaginoplasty operations are one of the aesthetic operations for the inner genital area. It is applied by gynecologists. It is ensured that the vagina, which expands over time, is narrowed by surgical operation and returned to its former form. It can be counted among the reconstruction surgeries known as reconstructive. This enlargement, which occurs with the weakening of the vaginal muscles, may be accompanied by conditions such as vaginal flatulence or urinary incontinence in the following processes. Vaginoplasty operations also prevent these problems.

In order to need vaginoplasty, patients do not necessarily have to have given birth or be of advanced age. Vaginal aging is not just about the biological age of the patient. The amount of deformation of the region and the rate of susceptibility to deformation also affect this definition. Therefore, the age of the patient does not need to be above middle age in order to need the vaginal regeneration process.

Vaginoplasty is not just an operation to improve the quality of sexual life. The effect of vaginal relaxation can also be reflected in areas other than sexual life. First of all, it causes serious problems in the self-confidence of the patient. Because of the problems such as gas and urinary incontinence, patients have difficulty in social life. They try to stay away from movements that trigger gas and urinary incontinence. Exercising, lifting weights, sneezing, and even laughing are among these triggers. When all these are taken into consideration, it is revealed that vaginoplasty surgery greatly facilitates the life of patients.

What are the Causes of Vaginal Enlargement?
Factors that create trauma, such as childbirth, where the vagina is actively used, are the causes of vaginal enlargement. During childbirth, the vagina is forced as never before. Although the structure of the vagina, which has already begun to change during pregnancy, returns to normal after delivery, it will never be the same again. Other factors such as the difficult birth process and the large size of the baby also reduce the possibility of the vagina returning to its original state. This whole process results in the enlargement of the vagina. However, contrary to the general belief, vaginal width is not only encountered in women who have given birth. In some cases, the structure of the vagina itself is like this. Sometimes, due to the weak connective tissue of the patient, enlargement and sagging occur more easily. Genetic predisposition also plays a major role in the enlargement of the vagina. Vaginal enlargement and relaxation may have one or more causes.

As the aging process progresses, there may be a great loss of elasticity in the tissues.
The patient may have had a difficult birth process. This birth process may have created trauma to the vagina.
During birth, tears may have occurred due to the size of the baby.
If the patient has a history of cesarean delivery, although a normal delivery was planned, this picture may be encountered.
The structure of the vagina itself may be wide.
The genetics of the patient may be predisposed to vaginal enlargement.
If any, stitches and wounds may not have been well taken care of in previous operations.
The patient may have had more than one birth.
The vaginal area may have been damaged and traumatized.
The abortion history of the patient, if any, may also have affected the vaginal width.

What are the Harms of Vaginal Enlargement?
The vagina that loosens and expands over time greatly harms the self-confidence of women. This feeling of insecurity can cause reluctance towards sexual life. If the patient is unable to share their complaints, they may feel very lonely. He may believe he has a problem. Such thoughts may even progress and cause vaginismus. Vaginismus is a disorder in which sexual intercourse cannot be experienced due to the contraction of the muscles at the entrance of the vagina, and it is largely psychological.

The enlarged vagina reduces the quality of sexual relations because it cannot grasp the penis well. It reduces the pleasure taken from sexuality. Problems in the sexual life of couples can cause problems in their relationships.

The rate of gas leakage from the vagina, called vaginal gas, is greatly increased. This act of gassing causes various sounds and occurs beyond the patient's control. These sounds, which increase especially during sexual intercourse, can cause couples to lose their concentration and desire. It reduces the self-confidence of women. In addition, this gas leakage can occur in situations such as brisk walking or doing sports, heavy lifting, sneezing. Patients may feel the desire to isolate from social life and feel uneasiness. It is observed that the patient tries to stay away from situations that may trigger vaginal gas leakage. This can mean that the patient's life is greatly restricted. All these problems can be prevented by vaginoplasty.

How is Vaginoplasty Performed?
Vaginoplasty surgeries are performed by gynecologist physicians. Because, contrary to popular belief, vaginal aesthetics is not like any aesthetic operation. The operation is a surgical intervention. Therefore, operating room procedures are valid. The operation can be performed by numbing the lower part of the waist (epidural anesthesia). However, general anesthesia is generally preferred for the psychological comfort of the patient. Depending on the state of the anesthesia, the patient may need to come hungry or full.

If epidural anesthesia is in question, the patient should enter the operation full, and if general anesthesia is in question, the patient should go hungry. During the operation, the enlarged excess tissue is removed from the vagina. The loosened muscle tissue, if any, is tightened by surgical intervention. No incision is made in the abdomen during the operation. The incisions made remain inside the vaginal area. Therefore, complaints such as traces are not encountered very often. The rate of reduction is decided by the physician according to the patient's history and the amount of enlargement. There is no change in the length of the vagina during the operation. Excess tissue is removed from the vagina and the vagina is narrowed with horizontal stitches. This procedure is usually done from the back wall of the vagina. The duration of the operation is shaped by the amount of reduction. However, in general, it varies between 30 - 60 minutes. Dissolved stitches are dissolving stitches. There is no process such as removing stitches afterwards.

If the necessary care is taken after the vaginoplasty surgery, it passes without any problems. The form of the vagina can be preserved with protective measures to be taken after the vagina has recovered. Kegel exercises are one of these measures. Kegel exercises that strengthen the pelvic floor muscles will help keep the connective tissue strong. In the same way, adopting a healthy lifestyle, maintaining nutrition and sleep patterns will also indirectly help protect the vaginal form as it will reduce the aging process. However, if it is needed again, there is no harm in performing the vaginoplasty operation.
