To Whom Hand Rejuvenation Procedures Are Performed?

Hand rejuvenation procedures can be performed on all patients with signs of aging on their hands. The changes that occur in the hands with age are as follows:

Loss of subcutaneous tissue: Due to the loss of subcutaneous fat tissue, the skin on the back of the hand becomes abundant and wrinkled, veins and bones become evident.

Thinning and fraying of the skin: The skin becomes dry, wrinkled and thinner, and becomes easily torn like parchment paper.

Spots on the skin: Brown, red spots, also called age spots, occur on the back of the hand. These occur due to sun damage and some of them carry the risk of developing into skin cancer.

How Are Hand Rejuvenation Procedures Performed?

Hand rejuvenation procedures can be grouped under three headings: replacing the lost fat tissue under the skin, improving skin quality and eliminating blemishes.

Fat injections: The fat tissue taken from the body is subjected to certain processes and intensified and given to the back of the hand. While the soft tissue loss is repaired with the given adipose tissue, the stem cells in the condensed adipose tissue allow the tissues to repair and renew themselves.

Filling applications: Filling application, which is an easier process, can be preferred instead of fat injection. Hyaluronic acid applications are made in the office environment and have a permanence for more than one year.

Skin moisturizing processes: Pure hyaluronic acid injections (Hydrate) are made to moisturize and strengthen the skin that thins and dries over time. Repeating these applications, which are carried out 4 times with two-week intervals, once a year is important in terms of preserving the youth of the hands.

PRP applications: Growth factors are extracted and purified from the blood taken from the patient and injected under the skin. This process allows the tissues to renew themselves. PRP applications can be done alone or together with oil and hyluronic acid applications.

Micro-abrasion: With the help of special tips rotating at high speed, the spots on the back of the hand are removed. This procedure, which is not too painful, is performed in office conditions using numbing creams.

Chemical peeling: Spots and fine wrinkles are removed by peeling the back of the hand with dilute acids.

What Kind of Problems Can Be Experienced After Hand Rejuvenation?

Fat injection and filling applications may not provide sufficient fullness. In such cases, additional applications may be required.

What Happens After Hand Rejuvenation?

After the fat injections, the patients are sent home on the same day. There may be swelling and bruising for a few days. The patient can take a bath the next day. After filling, PRP and hydrate applications, there may be slight swelling and bruising, but the daily activity of the patient is not affected. After the micro-abrasion application, there may be some redness and sometimes crusting. Patients should use plenty of moisturizer and sunscreen after the procedures.

Is the Result of Hand Rejuvenation Procedures Permanent?

Some of the fat given after fat injection is lost, but usually the targeted fullness is achieved in one go. Stem cells given during oil injection provide a permanent renewal of the skin of the hand. Hand rejuvenation package made with PRP, Hydrate, filling and micro-abrasion should be repeated every 1-2 years.

How Long Does Hand Rejuvenation Process Take?

Fat injections take about 1 hour. Transactions in office conditions take half an hour.
