Nasal aesthetics, known as Closed Rhinoplasty, is among the frequently preferred surgical techniques in recent years. Contrary to open surgeries, there is no need to open the nasal skin and soft tissues in the nose in operations performed with the closed technique. The nose does not only consist of bone, cartilage and skin. There are bonds that provide its softness, mobility and make it look neat. With this technique, both the skin and soft tissue are damaged much less, and the surgery is performed without cutting the ligaments and bleeding. For all these reasons, the recovery period of the patient is shortened. There is no scar after the operation. It is applied to every patient group, including closed nose surgeries, revision surgeries, and deviation surgeries.

How are closed nose surgeries performed?
In closed nose surgery, all incisions are made inside the nostrils. In this way, there is no suture scar at the tip of the nose, as in open rhinoplasty. General anesthesia is generally preferred in closed rhinoplasty. The operation takes approximately 2-2.5 hours.

After the operation, the patient is kept in the hospital for one night. Compared to open surgeries, less bruising is seen on the patient's face. It is normal to see facial swelling. After the closed surgery, the plaster is removed on the seventh-eighth day. The plaster mentioned here is not a conventional plaster. It is defined as a "thermoplastic sprit". Most of the time, a silicone leaf-shaped tampon is placed inside the nose. These are also removed on the third-fourth day. In general, the patient's age, skin condition, health conditions, smoking or not affect the healing process. When all conditions are normal, the patient is on the 12th-13th day. It seems as if there is no surgery in the day. The full recovery process takes 6 months.

There is a popular belief that nose drop can be seen after Closed Rhinoplasty. This is extremely wrong. If it is done in expert hands, there is no such risk in any way.

What are the points that the patient should pay attention to after the operation?
For the first two days after the operation, it is recommended that the patient lie slightly elevated and his head elevated. The purpose of this is to prevent the bruising and swelling of the face and to ensure that the blood goes to the head less. Ice therapy is also recommended for the first 2 days. It is necessary not to lie on the right or left side for the first two days, and not to wear glasses for 4-6 weeks. Care should be taken not to wet the bands for 7-8 days. After the thermoplastic split is removed, a tape is attached for two days. At the end of two days, the patient removes these bands himself during the shower.

If the patient works at a desk job, 3.-4. There is no harm in going with the bandage during the day. If he does not choose to go this way, he can start work at the end of 10-12 days.
